Our Partnerships

Connecting with others to develop effective and meaningful relationships is a fundamental part of the way we work. We operate in many regions of the world and rely on our partnerships to guarantee we are working in everyone’s best interests.

A Leader Tradition

This is how we have worked for the past 13 years. We believe that it is vital to develop open and collaborative partnerships, particularly in relation to compliance, where ensuring that we not only meet the expectations of regulatory bodies but exceed them is essential.

In Nigeria, for example, we have mobilized in excess of 70 consultants in the last 4 years, in addition to multiple staff engineers.

Collaborating With Others

Together with our local partners, we obtain work permits and subsequent green cards, in addition to managing local tax and securing certificates for the dual taxation treaty in the engineer’s country of residency. We also manage the complex internal compliance screening processes, including background, medical and D&A checks.

One of the most challenging countries within the region continues to be Angola, a country where Leader has operated with great success. We have simultaneously supported 47 live Drilling and Completion with Chevron Engineers (CABGOC) there, alongside mobilizing consultants to Total and Exxon.

Understanding Locations

Experience of this level of activity has allowed us to develop a very intimate understanding of the complexities of mobilizing to Angola and how candidate selection (managing their expectations on start dates and urgency to travel once the visa is in hand), candidate qualification and document management should be handled.

Our experience extends further across Africa; in Benin and Ghana we have implemented a full Drilling team and mobilized a select number of Completion Engineers and Supervisors, and in the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire and Namibia we have supplied highly qualified Drilling Engineers.
